Kelston Rugby has been a dominate team for over 30 years. The team has produced some really talented rugby players who have
gone on to become great All Blacks.
The team has become well known throughout the world by travelling to different parts of the world.
In the News: The 2005 team lost the 1A Auckland Secondary Championship Final 32 - 28 to Kings College. Kings College have
gone onto the New Zealand Secondary National Final against Chrishchurch Boys. Kings went on to beat North Harbour Champions
Westlake 18 - 14; then travelled to Palmerston North for the Top 4 Semi Finals against Jonah Lomu's old school Wesley College
(Chiefs Champions) to win 16 -14.
Kelston blew a commanding lead 28 - 9, where 20 minutes Kings scored 23 unanswered points. The team had a great year by
finishing 2nd in the round robin, by beating Auckland Grammar two weeks in a row. Round Robin beating Grammar 13 - 12 away
to win a home semi - final. The semi - final game was won in the last second by 1st 5 John Akavi with a 40m drop kick to win
20 - 18.
The Latest NEWS; Chrishchurch Boys is the 2005 National Rugby Secondary School Champions. They beat Kings College 20 -
9 at Palmerston North.
Another upset was the playoff for 3rd & 4th saw Palmerston North Boys beat Wesley 41 - 34.
